HARRISON, New Jersey (AP) — Fabian Espindola and Jonny Steele scored in the second half to lead New York to a 2-0 victory over Houston in Major League Soccer on Sunday, its first win in more than a month.

The Red Bulls moved within a point of first-place Montreal in the Eastern Conference after getting the win, their first since defeating Los Angeles on May 19. The Red Bulls were 0-2-1 during that span, which included a three-week break.

Espindola opened the scoring in the 60th minute with a left-footed shot past goalkeeper Tally Hall. It was his first goal since April 20.

Steele then put the game away in the 88th when he took a pass from Thierry Henry and buried it into the upper right corner of the net.

The Dynamo are winless in their last seven matches, going 0-4-3.
