LPHS Music Department will hold ‘Mattress Fundraiser’
La PORTE — The most unique fundraising concept to come along the pike in a very long while is quickly gaining popularity across the country.
National organization, Custom Fundraising Solutions, invented the “Mattress Fundraiser” more than 11 years ago and since them has given back more than $16 million dollars to schools across the country.
On Feb. 24, the La Porte High School Music Department is hosting their fourth annual Mattress Fundraiser. In the past the event made the department over $9,000 in seven hours!
The concept is unusual but one that absolutely works, said Joe Matejka, owner and founder of the “Mattress Fundraiser.”
“One in ten people buy a new mattress every single year,” said Matejka. “We offer the community a quality product they need, at a great price and the best part is that the profits pay directly to the kids. Our one day sale can help a group raise an average of $4,000! That is why we are in this business…to help the kids!”
Chris Paulk is the owner of CFS NW Indiana and will be hosting the upcoming La Porte Mattress Sale on Feb. 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the high school lobby.
“We offer a huge selection of mattress styles and sizes, all priced up to 50 percent below retail. We bring in a mobile showroom so that shoppers can test drive name-brand beds and find a perfect fit,” said Paulk.
Watch for area street signs and for a few lucky kids who get to wear the “mattress suit” while promoting the sale to passersby.
A $50 off coupon can be found online at facebook.com/cfsnwin or on “La Porte Music Club” facebook page. A 10 percent discount is given to all La Porte School Corp. faculty and employees, along with all military, police, fire, and EMS personnel.
