Prep Stars in College: Burrup leads Treasure Valley at the plate

CC Burrup (Highland) — Treasure Valley Community College

Highland graduate CC Burrup has easily adjusted to the college level with the Treasure Valley Community College baseball team.

The freshman outfielder has a team-high .338 batting average and has compiled 25 hits, 16 runs and eight RBIs. Burrup had a season-high four hits in five at-bats in a 9-8 home loss against Walla Walla on April 4.

Treasure Valley (7-16, 1-7 Northwest Athletic Conference-East) plays Wednesday at Blue Mountain in a doubleheader.

Chase Teter (Pocatello) — Montana State University Billings

Pocatello graduate Chase Teter is amid his final year of college baseball for Montana State Billings.

The senior infielder is batting .227, while compiling 15 hits, eight RBIs, eight runs and two homers. He had a season-high three hits in four at-bats in a 7-6 loss at College of Idaho on Feb. 17.

MSU Billings (19-11, 14-6 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) hosts Northwest Nazarene on Friday in a doubleheader.

Bridger Matyus (Soda Springs) — College of Idaho

Soda Springs graduate Bridger Matyus is en route to completing his senior season with the College of Idaho baseball team.

The pitcher has the second-best ERA on the team at 5.23. He has pitched 10 1/3 innings in 10 games and allowed 15 hits and 11 runs (six earned), while striking out five and walking two.

College of Idaho (10-30, 3-20 Cascade Conference) hosts Lewis-Clark State on Friday.
