O’Hara reschedules November meeting

November 23, 2018 GMT

O’Hara council will meet at 7 p.m. Nov. 7 for its regular workshop.

The township offices are closed Nov. 6, when the meeting typically would be held, for Election Day.

Council is expected to discuss recent amendments to zoning during the meeting. Members in September approved the creation of a moderate density residential district along the Saxonburg Boulevard corridor.

“They are reviewing the proposed map,” township Manager Julie Jakubec said. “They wanted more time to review the included properties.”

Jakubec said there is an expectation of build-out since a $4 million sewerline project is moving foward in the area, where residents now rely on septic systems.

The sewerline project will provide service to neighborhoods from the Shaler line to the Indiana Township line, and some homes along Berryhill and Calmwood roads.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the municipal building, 325 Fox Chapel Road.

In other news, the township’s fall leaf collection runs through Dec. 1.

Leaves should be set at the curb, with no other debris mixed in. The eastern and western portions of the township have been divided into zones to make it easier for the public works department to follow a set route and notify residents where collection is taking place.

The township’s website is updated daily.
