Two Havasu residents arrested in alleged drug sales
Lake Havasu City Police officers ended an ongoing investigation last month into the alleged sale of drugs from a Catalina Drive address. One of the home’s two occupants, identified as 31-year-old Chad A. Van Allen, was allegedly taken into custody at his workplace on Kiowa Boulevard, and transported to the police department for questioning.
Van Allen allegedly admitted to having 20 grams of methamphetamine on his person at the time of his arrest. Officers told him he would be interviewed after a search warrant was executed at his home.
Officers also detained another of the home’s residents, 22-year-old Jacqueline Cazares, during a traffic stop before the search was conducted. A search of her person allegedly yielded a THC vape pen, and according to police, Cazares admitted to the presence of drugs and drug paraphernalia within her residence.
The search of Van Allen’s and Cazares’ residence allegedly yielded about 31 grams of methamphetamine and about 187 grams of cannabis concentrate. According to the police report, the total street value of the alleged drugs seized from the residence is about $16,510.
Van Allen was charged with manufacturing narcotic drugs, two counts of possession of narcotic drugs for sale, two counts of possession of narcotic drugs, three counts of possession of dangerous drugs, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, one count of possession of marijuana and one count of possession of a weapon during a drug offense. He remains in custody at Mohave County Jail on $35,000 bond.
Cazares was charged with manufacturing narcotic drugs, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, one count of possession of dangerous drugs and one count of possession of marijuana. She remains in custody at Mohave County Jail on $15,000 bond.
