Celebrate Tom Brady’s big 4-0
In two short weeks, quarterback legend Tom Brady is turning a sporty 40. And Boston is getting ready to bid him a happy birthday with a bash at Faneuil Hall Marketplace.
On Aug. 3 — the day of our GOAT and savior — TB12 fans are asked to gather at Faneuil at 1 p.m. to sing “Happy Birthday.” Afterwards, everyone can crush some cake, courtesy of North End Bakery in Quincy Market — the irony being that Brady would personally pass on the sweets, given his strict diet of champions. Unless, that is, the cake is dairy free, whole grain and made entirely out of avocados.
Whether or not real TB will be back in Boston for his birthday remains to be seen. He might still be drinking in those Costa Rican rays with wife Gisele Bundchen and his three kiddos — Jack, Vivian and Benjamin — for his big 4-0. No biggie. Folks at the Faneuil Hall party can pose for a picture with a lifesize cutout of Tommy.
Extra bonus: Wear Patriots swag and you can collect discounts from various vendors.
In just about 40 years, Brady has accomplished more than any of us will by 80. He’s a four-time Super Bowl MVP and is the only quarterback to win five Lombardi trophies. Oh yeah, and he married one of the world’s highest-grossing supermodels, launched a meal delivery kit and opened a sports medicine clinic in Foxboro.
Come September, he’s also expected to release his first book and lifestyle guide for peak performance, “The TB12 Method: How to Achieve a Lifetime of Sustained Peak Performance.” In the book, he’s supposed to detail all the do’s and don’ts for becoming a beast and staying one well into your years — just like him.
