Extreme Networks: Fiscal 1Q Earnings Snapshot

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) _ Extreme Networks Inc. (EXTR) on Wednesday reported a loss of $37.7 million in its fiscal first quarter.

On a per-share basis, the San Jose, California-based company said it had a loss of 31 cents. Earnings, adjusted for costs related to mergers and acquisitions and stock option expense, were 8 cents per share.

The maker of network infrastructure equipment posted revenue of $255.5 million in the period.

For the current quarter ending in January, Extreme Networks expects its per-share earnings to range from 12 cents to 16 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $268 million to $278 million for the fiscal second quarter.

Extreme Networks shares have climbed 24% since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 53% in the last 12 months.
