Man accused in sexual assault violates protective order

HUNTINGTON — The following information was provided by criminal complaints filed in Cabell County Magistrate Court:

DVP VIOLATION: A Branchland, West Virginia, man is being held on a $125,000 bond for violating a domestic violence protection order that was served to him April 26 following an incident in which he is accused of attacking and sexually assaulting a woman.

Asa Andrew Parsons, 29, was jailed at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to booking records at Western Regional Jail.

According to the criminal complaint, the suspect is accused of forcing entry into the victim’s residence and removing items May 2.

The Herald-Dispatch previously reported the suspect allegedly punched a female victim several times in the face and bit her on the nose, then forced the victim to the ground and got on top of her. He then allegedly threatened to rape and kill the victim, stating she “never gives it to him anymore.”

The suspect allegedly choked the victim with his hand and a second time with a shower rod while he was on top of her. The complaint states the victim alleged the suspect put his fingers in her genitals, attempted to perform oral sex on her without her consent and bit her genitals.

The victim escaped the attack to call 911, and meanwhile, the

suspect allegedly stole the victim’s vehicle, her cellphone and $700 cash from her wallet. The suspect also allegedly punched several holes in the walls of the house.

Parsons was charged with assault during commission of a felony, second-degree sexual assault, grand larceny, two counts of strangulation, and misdemeanors for domestic assault, domestic battery, destruction of property and joyriding.

The Huntington Police Department listed 20 new incident reports in the 24-hour period ending at 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to the printout released by the department. However, the individual police reports were not made available, so these are the only known details:

Insurance required, possession of a controlled substance, suspended/revoked license — miscellaneous, DUI less than 0.150, 4:39 p.m. Tuesday, 11th Avenue and 2nd Street.

Destruction of property — misdemeanor, breaking and entering, 11:30 a.m. May 9, 500 block of Washington Avenue.

Battery, attempt to commit misdemeanor, 3:26 p.m. Tuesday, 2100 block of 8th Avenue.

Suspended/revoked license — DUI first and second offense, possession of a controlled substance, distracted driving, 4 p.m. Tuesday, 3rd Avenue and 2nd Street.

Possession of a controlled substance, no motor vehicle inspection or expired motor vehicle inspection, DUI less than 0.150, 1:42 p.m. Tuesday, 17th Street and 11th Street.

Fraudulent use of a credit card — value less than $1,000, grand larceny, 5:30 p.m. May 9, 14th Street and 6th Avenue.

Breaking and entering auto, 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, 3000 block of Washington Boulevard.

Grand larceny, 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, 3000 block of Washington Boulevard.

Warrant service/execution, 12:03 p.m. Tuesday, 1000 block of Washington Avenue.

Grand larceny, 12:16 a.m. Tuesday, 300 block of West Whitacre Boulevard.

Breaking and entering auto, 6 p.m. Saturday, 9th Street and 4th Avenue.

Stolen auto/auto theft, 7 p.m. Monday, 2400 block of 9th Avenue.

Grand larceny, breaking and entering auto, 2 a.m. Monday, 1000 block of 8th Street.

Warrant service/execution, 3:04 a.m. Tuesday, 2600 block of 5th Avenue.

Warrant service/execution, 2:12 a.m. Tuesday, 800 block of Hal Greer Boulevard.

The following information was provided by booking records kept at Western Regional Jail:

David Allen Adkins, 68, was jailed at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday. Authorities in Lincoln County charged him with conspiracy. Bond was not set.

Shawn Michael Harmon, 31, was jailed at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Mason County charged him with possession with intent to deliver an imitation controlled substance. He was also jailed on an active warrant. Bond was not set.
