NORFOLK - The Norfolk Public School Board of Education approved another step in the 25th Street renovation project.

During Thursday’s meeting, Associate Superintendent Dr. Bill Robinson told board members it’s recommended the board approve from Hespe Company for a price of just over $4.5 million.

Superintendent Dr. Jami Jo Thompson said the renovation of the Our Savior Lutheran Church to a Little Panthers Preschool will create 13 classrooms.

“Two would be for our three-year-old classrooms, and 11 four-year-old classrooms. That would give us the ability to serve up to 220 four-year-olds. A typical grade level class for us is 320-340 (students) somewhere in there” Dr. Thompson said.

Robinson said work will begin in September with an anticipated completion date of July 2019.

The board voted unanimously to approve the bid from Hespe Company.
