Nashville to open extreme cold weather shelter

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Officials in Nashville will open an extreme cold weather overflow shelter starting Thursday due to expected low temperatures.

According to The Tennessean, Metro Social Services activates cold weather shelters when temperatures drop to 28 degrees or below. The cold weather housing is at 3230 Brick Church Pike. It will be open from 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 25 through 7 a.m. Friday Nov. 26.

Temperatures are anticipated to be in the 40s and 50s on Thanksgiving before falling below freezing early Friday morning.
