Surprise picnic party Dinner with Friends en Blanc scheduled for May 6

April 14, 2018 GMT

Dinner with Friends en Blanc, a popular surprise picnic party and fundraiser in Aiken, will return May 6.

The renewal will be the final edition of the event, which has been held annually since 2015.

The site will be revealed via text message and email shortly before Dinner en Blanc begins at 5 p.m.

Attendees will dress in white and bring their own meals and table décor. They will also have the option to purchase a picnic meal from the Ridge Spring-based Juniper restaurant.

DJ Kenny Ray will provide the music.

Proceeds will benefit the Community Medical Clinic of Aiken County.

“We are very excited about the final Dinner with Friends en Blanc,” said Jamie Mothkovich, executive director of the Community Medical Clinic. “This event is one of my favorite events that the Clinic does. It all started with an idea from David Stinson. He had a wonderful idea to have friends of the Clinic host dinner parties to make donations to the Clinic. The event has evolved into what it is today thanks to Betty Ryberg and Mallory Holley.

There will be a $10 registration fee per attendee to help cover the cost of providing tables and chairs. Also, seating will be limited to 250.

“Dinner with Friends will provide funding for the Community Medical Clinic’s operating expenses and will allow us to continue to serve the uninsured and low income residents of Aiken County,” Mothkovich said. “We are looking forward to the community’s support in making this event a success.”
