North Augusta daycare worker charged with multiple counts of unlawful conduct toward a child
A woman who worked at a North Augusta child care center in Aiken County has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of unlawful conduct toward a child.
Wendi Nelson, 57, of Hephzibah, Georgia, is charged with five felony counts of unlawful conduct toward a child from incidents reported by True Foundations Daycare on Hidden Hills Drive in North Augusta.
The daycare facility contacted the North Augusta Department of Public Safety earlier in the week, and the investigation established sufficient probable cause to issue five warrants against Nelson, said Lt. Tim Thornton with North Augusta Public Safety in a news release Friday evening.
At this time, no further charges are pending but the investigation remains ongoing, Thornton said.
Nelson was located Thursday afternoon, placed under arrest and transported to the Aiken County detention center.
