Second class township officials to meet
Officials representing second class townships in Somerset County will convene May 3 at Oakhurst Grille & Event Center in Somerset for their 98th Annual County Convention.
The convention’s purpose is to provide township officials with up-to-date information to help them better serve their residents and to give them an opportunity to exchange ideas on local government issues.
The convention will feature a range of speakers, including David M. Sanko, executive director of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors. Sanko will talk about legislation impacting townships, association programs and services for townships, and issues of major importance to townships and their residents.
The association represents Pennsylvania’s 1,453 townships of the second class, 25 of which are located in the county.
