SALEM, Mass. (AP) — Organizers of Salem's huge Halloween bash are certainly hoping for a Boston Red Sox victory in Game 6 of the World Series.

Officials worry that Thursday's celebration in the "Witch City" could draw smaller crowds if the St. Louis Cardinals should win on Wednesday and force a Game 7 to be played on Thursday night.

The Halloween party culminates the monthlong "Haunted Happenings" in Salem. Police Chief Paul Tucker tells the Salem News (http://bit.ly/1bCrD6f ) that this year's festivities have drawn record crowds, in part because of a spell of good weather.

He notes that the crowds have been strong even on recent nights when the Red Sox were playing.
