The Yankees and Mets open a three-game Subway Series at Citi Field. Jacob deGrom has been stellar for the Mets, but New York hasn't been so great in return. DeGrom has a 0.99 ERA over his past nine starts, and yet the Mets are 2-7 in those games. The Yankees, meanwhile, have won seven of eight and are a half-game back of Boston in the AL East with Masahiro Tanaka (7-2, 4.79) set to start.

CHICAGO (AP) — Things are looking up for Anthony Rizzo and the Chicago Cubs. Even potentially prickly calls are going their way.
Rizzo hit a solo homer and added a second RBI with a sacrifice fly to lead the Cubs past the Philadelphia Phillies 4-3 on Thursday. Chicago won for the fifth time in six games to close to a half-game behind idle first-place Milwaukee in the NL Central.
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Odubel Herrera has been finding his way on base all season for the Phillies.
On Saturday, he propelled them to a win with a homer and three RBIs in Philadelphia's 7-6 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.
"I'm feeling good, feeling comfortable," Herrera said. "Just being part of the team and being part of the win."
He extended his streak of reaching base to 45 consecutive games with his third inning home run.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Aaron Altherr had quite a game for a guy who sat on the bench the first six innings.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Freddy Galvis boosted the Phillies with his bat and glove.
Galvis hit a bases-loaded single to right field in the ninth inning to give Philadelphia a 2-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Sunday, its second straight walk-off win.

"I try to catch the ball and do the job for my pitchers and for the team," Galvis said.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Josh Bell didn't let a defensive miscue get him down. He just made up for it with his bat.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Pinch-hitter Ty Kelly doubled home the only run in the eighth inning of a duel between Philadelphia's Nick Pivetta and Chris Sale to lead the Phillies to a 1-0 win over the Boston Red Sox on Thursday night.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Nick Pivetta figured that if the Phillies were going to end their losing streak he needed to keep up with Boston ace Chris Sale.
Pivetta did just that with the best performance of his young career in a pitchers' duel with Sale. Pinch-hitter Ty Kelly doubled home the only run in the eighth inning to lead the Phillies to a 1-0 victory over the Red Sox on Thursday night.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Colorado manager Bud Black said recently that Tyler Chatwood has the stuff to be one of the best pitchers in the National League.
Chatwood made a convincing argument Wednesday night.
Chatwood allowed just one hit in seven scoreless innings and struck out a season-high eight batters, helping the Rockies beat the Philadelphia Phillies 7-2 to win their fourth straight game and their major league-best 18th on the road.
