CLEVELAND BROWNS (8-9)
CAMP SITE: Berea, Ohio
LAST YEAR: Expected to make a run at the AFC title, the Browns flopped. There was distracting drama, costly injuries and questionable strategy as coach Kevin Stefanski's second season was completely opposite from his first, when the Browns won a playoff game.
44. CLEVELAND BROWNS (8-9)
LAST SEASON: Perhaps the NFL's most disappointing team, the Browns fell way short of expectations after making the playoffs in coach Kevin Stefanski's first season. Quarterback Baker Mayfield suffered a left shoulder injury in Week 2 and never got untracked.
21. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (10-7)
LAST SEASON: The Patriots spent heavily in free agency last offseason and got great production in return from new additions Matt Judon, Davon Godchaux and Hunter Henry.
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The Patriots promoted defensive back Myles Bryant from the practice squad to the 53-man roster on Tuesday and placed linebacker Chase Winovich on injured reserve.
Winovich left in the third quarter of Sunday's 35-29 loss to the Cowboys with a hamstring injury.
BOSTON (AP) — New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore has reported to the team for training camp but will start it on the active/physically unable to perform list.
Gilmore was one of eight Patriots players added to the list Thursday ahead of the official start of camp next week.
Livonia – Michigan defensive end Chase Winovich said he plans to have a decision within the next two weeks on whether he will return to Michigan for his final season or depart for the NFL.
Winovich, who had 74 tackles, including a team-high 17 tackles for loss and eight sacks this season, said he's enjoying the process and talking to a lot of people about his future as he prepares for the Outback Bowl on New Year's Day.
