NEW YORK (AP) — Liz Cambage is looking to play elsewhere next season.
"Liz Cambage has communicated through her representation a desire to play elsewhere in the WNBA during the 2019 season," Dallas Wings president and CEO Greg Bibb said in a statement Tuesday. "While Liz is currently under contract with the Dallas Wings, we will work to resolve this issue while keeping the interest of our organization the priority."
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Wings had already been through an extensive search for a new coach when Brian Agler suddenly became an option.
"Better to be lucky than good sometimes," Wings general manager and president Greg Bibb said Tuesday when introducing the team's new coach. "And we got lucky in early December when the all-time winningest coach in U.S. women's professional basketball history became available."
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Elizabeth Cambage had 35 points and 17 rebounds, breaking the WNBA's two-game scoring record, and the Dallas Wings beat the Washington Mystics 90-81 on Thursday night.
Coming off a historic 53-point performance Tuesday, Cambage broke Minnesota star Maya Moore's record two-game total of 80 points set in 2014. Cambage also became the first player with back-to-back 30-point, 10-rebound games since Moore in 2014.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Sylvia Fowles had 23 points and 20 rebounds for Minnesota's first 20-20 game and the Lynx beat the Dallas Wings 76-68 on Wednesday night.
Minnesota closed the first half with a 13-0 run for a 46-21 lead. Fowles had 16 points, 12 rebounds and three steals in the half.
Maya Moore added 12 points, and Seimone Augustus chipped in 11 for Minnesota (1-1). Rebekkah Brunson and Fowles combined for 33 rebounds — equaling Dallas' total.
SYDNEY (AP) — Liz Cambage will play for Australia's Commonwealth Games team before she returns to the WNBA with the Dallas Wings in May.
Basketball Australia said Wednesday that the 6-foot-8 (2.03-meter) center will lead the national team at the Commonwealth Games which begin on April 4 on the Gold Coast south of Brisbane.
Australia won the men's and women's competition in Melbourne in 2006, the only time basketball has featured at the Commonwealth Games.
Liz Cambage needed some time away from basketball to rediscover her passion for the sport.
The 6-foot-8 Australian center took more than a year off after the 2016 Rio Olympics to "find herself."
Now she's back in the WNBA, signing a multiyear contract with the Dallas Wings earlier this month. She's returning to the organization that drafted her second overall seven years ago.

Wings president Greg Bibb called the 6-foot-8 Cambage "one of the best players in the world."
