So the No. 24 Terriers embraced the challenge — literally.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Fletcher Magee sank seven 3-pointers and scored 26 points and Wofford remained unbeaten in Southern Conference play with an 80-50 romp over UNC Greensboro on Saturday night.

Nathan Hoover had 13 points and Cameron Jackson added 12 points and four assists for the Terriers (23-4, 15-0), who won their 14th straight game.

Kyrin Galloway led the Spartans (22-5, 11-3) with 17 points, while James Dickey had nine rebounds.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Storm Murphy had 19 points as Wofford won its 13th consecutive game, defeating VMI 95-84 on Thursday night.

Fletcher Magee had 18 points for Wofford (22-4, 14-0 Southern Conference). Chevez Goodwin added 10 rebounds.

VMI put up 56 second-half points, a season high for the team.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) — Fletcher Magee scored 11 of his 32 points in overtime on Thursday night and Wofford stayed undefeated in Southern Conference play with a 78-76 win over East Tennessee State.

Magee made 7 of 15 from 3-point range, including the go-ahead 3 that made it 75-73 for the Terriers (20-4, 12-0) with 31 seconds left in the game. Fouled on the shot, Magee missed the extra free throw but made two free throws with eight seconds left to extend the lead to four.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Fletcher Magee scored 31 points, including a late 3-pointer to force overtime, and Storm Murphy hit a 15-footer as time expired to give Wofford a 107-106 win over Samford on Thursday night.

Josh Sharkey, who had a school-record 16 assists, drove through traffic in the lane for a layup that put Samford on top 106-105 with 6.4 seconds left. Murphy drilled up the court and angled to the left wing where he hit a fadeway to give Wofford its seventh-straight win.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Fletcher Magee scored 22 points, Storm Murphy hit a tie-breaking 3-pointer with 17.5 seconds remaining and Wofford pulled out a 59-54 win over Furman on Saturday night.

Neither team led by more than five points in the evenly played game.

Matt Rafferty, who led Furman with 23 points, made two free throws and then a layup at the 1:01 mark to put the Paladins on top 54-52. Cameron Jackson quickly tied it with a layup before a Furman miss led to Murphy's basket.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Fletcher Magee scored 23 points and Nathan Hoover added 14 points and Wofford won its fourth straight and beat UNC Greensboro 72-43 Thursday night.

The Terriers (13-4, 5-0 Southern Conference) started the game with a 14-0 spurt and were never threatened. UNC Greensboro (14-3, 3-1) didn't reach double digits until Francis Alonso buried a 3-pointer with 4:40 before intermission to make the score 29-11.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Fletcher Magee passed Stephen Curry for the Southern Conference record for career 3-pointers with a key jumper late in the game , helping Wofford beat Mercer 78-74 on Saturday night.

Magee had three crucial 3-pointers in the final six minutes. His record-breaker (415) was the last, making it 76-72 with 38 seconds to go.

CULLOWHEE, N.C. (AP) — Cameron Jackson scored 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds to help Wofford beat Western Carolina 74-54 on Saturday.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Wofford used South Carolina's rocky starts to each half and 30 points from Nathan Hoover to rout the Gamecocks 81-61 Monday.

The Gamecocks (3-3) knew they had to defend All-America candidate Fletcher Magee and did, holding him to eight points on 3-of-15 shooting. Hoover's name was also starred on the scouting report but once his first shot went in, he didn't stop shooting.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Fletcher Magee hit five 3-pointers and scored 18 points and Cameron Jackson totaled 18 points, 10 rebounds and five steals to propel Wofford to a 97-46 romp over Division II-member Mars Hill on Friday.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Last season, Trae Young's greatness overshadowed Brady Manek's strong freshman year.

With Young now in the NBA, Manek is breaking out. He had 18 points and 11 rebounds to help Oklahoma defeat Wofford 75-64 in its home opener on Sunday afternoon.

Manek grabbed double-digit rebounds for the third straight game. The sophomore forward had 11 points and five rebounds in the second half and helped establish an aggressive mentality.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Fletcher Magee hit 5 of 7 from 3-point range and Wofford crushed Carver Bible College, 94-35 in its home opener Tuesday night.

The Terriers lost their season opener to No. 8 North Carolina, 77-68 and rebounded to knock off High Point, 68-60 before heading home to host the Cougars of the NCCAA for the first time.

Magee shot 5 for 8 in the win over High Point and Wofford hot 12 of 25 from 3-point range as a team. Against Carver they hit 12 of 26 from distance (46.2 percent).

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Defending champion UNC Greensboro is the favorite again win the men's basketball title and Wofford guard Fletcher Magee has been selected as the preseason player of the year.

The Spartans were the top pick in separate voting by the league coaches and media. The results were announced Thursday.

The top five teams in the preseason order of finish were the same in both polls. Following UNCG, it was Wofford, East Tennessee State, Furman and Mercer.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Francis Alonso's 3-pointer with 19.2 seconds remaining lifted top-seeded UNC Greensboro to a 56-55 win over No. 5 seed Wofford on Sunday and into the Southern Conference Tournament championship game.

The Spartans (26-7), who won their fifth straight game, will play Monday against the No. 2 seed East Tennessee for the tournament title and an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Nathan Hoover scored 22 points and Cameron Jackson scored 18 with 10 rebounds to lead No. 5 seed Wofford to a 73-53 win over fourth-seeded Mercer in a Southern Conference Tournament quarterfinal matchup on Saturday.

Wofford moves to play top-seeded UNC Greensboro in a semifinal game on Sunday. The Terriers (21-11) built a 21-9 lead with scoring from seven-different players and never trailed. Hoover's jump shot with nine seconds before halftime made the lead 37-21.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — East Tennessee guard Desonta Bradford and Wofford guard Fletcher Magee have won Southern Conference player of the year awards.

Bradford was the choice of league coaches while Magee earned the honor from the SoCon media. The conference announced its postseason awards Wednesday.

The two voting groups also split on the league's top freshman with coaches awarding East Tennessee guard Bo Hodges and the media selecting VMI guard Bubba Parham.

Magee was 17 of 26 from the field, 11 of 19 behind arc, for the Terriers' first 40-point game since January of 2001. Magee, a junior, moved into Wofford's Top 10 in career scoring with 1,696 points but was 12 behind the school single game record of 57 points by Daddy Neal against Erskine in the 1952-53 season.
