Police respond to dozens of crashes, ice closes bridges
February 8, 2022 GMTRICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia State Police responded to 65 crashes, including two fatal crashes, and icy conditions closed several bridges in central Virginia early Tuesday.
Spokesperson Sgt. Jessica Shehan said most of the crashes police responded to between midnight and 8 a.m.
New Zealand man has plea deal in girl’s attempted kidnapping
July 14, 2021 GMTRICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A New Zealand man who was shot while allegedly trying to kidnap a 14-year-old Virginia girl he met online has reached a plea agreement with federal prosecutors.
Troy George Skinner, 28, of Auckland, New Zealand, was scheduled to face trial next month on two counts of attempted kidnapping and nine counts related to the production of child pornography.
