LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — Immersing himself in the wild western adventures of the African-American Buffalo Soldiers has been a return to some familiar themes and narratives for graphic designer and comic book artist Stan Webb.

Webb and writer Dion Lee released the first issue of the comic book "Buffalo Soldier" in early October. But the characters and storyline have stuck with them for close to 20 years, since the two originally published the first four books of "Buffalo Soldier" in the early '90s.

ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — Daniel Growler has a specific term for his art. It's "Indian graphic design."

"When you do this, you have to use your brain," Growler says of his art. "It's kind of like telling a story."

The artist says he has taken graphic design techniques that he developed through the years and has adapted them to his own ideas and the cultural traditions of his Paiute people.

OVERLAND, Mo. (AP) — A graphic design student from St. Louis County missed out on a $164 million Powerball jackpot by one ball, but he'll gladly take the consolation prize: $1 million.

The Missouri Lottery says 21-year-old Chaz Williams of Overland won the prize for the Oct. 26 drawing. He matched all five white-ball numbers -- 2, 3, 16, 48 and 56 -- but missed on the Powerball number.

He plans to use the winnings, in part, to pay off his tuition.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The idea for the U2 Tattoo Project, which can be seen in exhibit form starting Monday at the University of North Florida's Gallery of Art, came together last year.

It was mid-May. Beth Nabi and her friend Chris LeClere were at the first of two concerts launching U2's Innocence + Experience Tour in Vancouver.

Nabi had encouraged LeClere to join her to experience the thrill of seeing the celebrated Irish rock band perform live.

Morghan King was interning as a graphic designer and working at an organic breakfast restaurant in Seattle when she put "real life" on hold to become a weightlifter.
