ANTALYA, Turkey (AP) — Joost Luiten, Haydn Porteous and Nicolas Colsaerts all shot 7-under 64s Thursday to tie for the lead after the first round of the Turkish Airlines Open.
Colsaerts was 8 under through 15 holes, including an eagle on the 12th, but bogeyed the 16th. Porteous brought himself into contention with five birdies on the back nine.
VYSOKY UJEZD, Czech Republic (AP) — Haydn Porteous shot a 3-under 69 Sunday to win the Czech Masters by two strokes for his second European Tour title.
Starting two shots behind overnight leader Lee Slattery, the 23-year-old South African birdied six holes in the final round — together with three bogeys — to close at 13-under 275 at the Albatross Golf Resort near Prague.
"To get my second European Tour win under the belt just feels amazing," Porteous said.
VYSOKY UJEZD, Czech Republic (AP) — Lee Slattery produced a flawless 5-under 67 at the Czech Masters on Saturday for a two-shot lead over Haydn Porteous of South Africa.
The Englishman opened the third round with his first of five birdies for 12-under 204 overall.
"I hit a couple of loose shots on the front nine early on but hit great chips to follow them up and managed to salvage the pars so it kind of kept a bit of the momentum going," said Slattery, who has won two titles on the European Tour.
BAD GRIESBACH, Germany (AP) — Defending champion Anthony Wall produced his second big finish in as many days to move into the last 16 at the Paul Lawrie Match Play with a 1-up victory over Haydn Porteous on Friday.
The Englishman, who won the European Tour event when it was staged in Scotland last year, was behind going into the last two holes but won them both for a clash against Ryder Cup winner Jamie Donaldson.
SHENZHEN, China (AP) — Bubba Watson fired a 6-under 66 in the first round to take a one-stroke lead at the weather-delayed Shenzhen International on Thursday.
Starting on the 10th hole, Watson bogeyed the 12th but bounced back with birdies on Nos. 13, 14 and 16 to turn in 34. A birdie at the first hole was then followed by an approach shot to eight feet on the par-5 second, setting up an eagle that sent Watson to the top of the leaderboard.
PRETORIA, South Africa (AP) — Gregory Havret, Haydn Porteous, and Alexander Bjork shared the lead after the first round of the European Tour's Tshwane Open in South Africa, all carding 6-under 65s at Pretoria Country Club on Thursday.
Fifteen players shot 67 or better at the par-71 course, a low-scoring opening round in the South African capital.
The leaders had a one-shot advantage over five players tied for fourth.
