BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) — Jordan Hunter scored 17 points that included a 3-point play with 1:45 left in overtime, sparking an 8-0 run to lift Lamar past Incarnate Word 87-81 on Wednesday night.

Josh Nzeakor had 22 points and seven rebounds to lead Lamar (9-10, 2-4 Southland Conference), which snapped a three-game skid. Nick Garth added 16 points and Michael Kolawole had 10. Garth made three free throws and Kolawole added two to end it.

HAMMOND, La. (AP) — Marlain Veal scored 22 points with four assists, three rebounds and three steals and Southeastern Louisiana beat Lamar 76-69 on Wednesday night for its first conference win.

The Lions (5-12, 1-3 Southland Conference) snapped their eight-game skid with a 26-for-50 shooting effort while making 18 of 22 from the foul line. Southeastern Louisiana overcame its 16 turnovers with the help of Lamar's 23 personal fouls.

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) — T.J. Atwood scored 22 points and Lamar had a big second half to defeat Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 61-55 on Saturday.

The Cardinals (8-7, 1-1 Southland Conference) entered the game averaging almost 82 points but trailed 22-18 at halftime as both teams shot less than 30 percent.

The second half was a big turnaround as Lamar shot 57 percent (12 of 21) and went 16 of 24 from the foul line against the league's best defensive team that allows 66 points a game.

MORAGA, Calif. (AP) — Jordan Ford scored 28 points, St. Mary's shot 55 percent and the Gaels smashed Bucknell 85-56 on Wednesday night.

Ford scored 12 of the Gaels' first 20 points — Jordan Hunter scored four in that stretch — and St. Mary's led 20-8 in a game they never trailed. Hunter scored 15 points and he and Jordan combined to shoot 18 of 29. Ford was 4 of 6 from the 3-point line.

Hunter and Ford were both 8 of 10 from the field. Hunter was 8 of 12 from the foul line and Ford made three 3-pointers. Saint Mary's shot 59 percent for the game and 64 percent in the second half — including 8 of 16 from 3-point range.

MORAGA, Calif. (AP) — Henry Welsh, pressed into a starting role with Harvard's leading scorer out, scored 15 points and the Crimson earned its first win over Saint Mary's on Saturday, 74-68 to cap a four-game road swing.

Harvard's leading scorer, Chris Lewis, did not play against the Gaels after leading the Crimson with 16 points in a 61-57 loss to San Francisco.

EDINBURG, Texas (AP) — Lesley Varner II tied a career high with 21 points and UT Rio Grande Valley overcame a 24-point deficit to beat Lamar 77-75 on Friday night.

The Vaqueros (4-3) became the 28th team in NCAA history to overcome a deficit of 24 or more points while setting the program record with the comeback.

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) — Josh Nzeakor scored 24 points on 10-of-12 shooting and Lamar beat Arlington Baptist 105-40 on Monday night.

Jordan Hunter scored 12 points and Michael Kolawole and Nick Garth each scored 10 for Lamar (3-2). The Cardinals used their size advantage for a 56-27 rebounding advantage with 21 coming on the offensive end. Hunter made a pair of free throws and Lamar led 27-8 with 8:42 remaining before halftime.

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) — Jordan Hunter scored 19, T.J. Atwood added 16 points, eight rebounds and four steals, and Lamar held off Prairie View A&M 74-67 on Saturday.

Atwood hit a pair of free throws with 1:41 left and added a jumper at 1:12 to make it 67-62 for the Cardinals (2-2). Taishaun Johnson's 3-pointer with 1:04 left cut the deficit to two for the Panthers (1-3), but Lamar made 7 of 8 free throws in the final minute to secure the win.

MORAGA, Calif. (AP) — Jordan Ford scored a career-high 35 points on 11-of-17 shooting to help Saint Mary's beat Utah Valley 92-63 on Sunday night.

Ford made 4 of 6 from 3-point range and 9 of 10 from the free-throw line. The junior, who averaged 19.1 points over the final seven games of last season, had 23 in a season-opening win over McNeese State on Wednesday and has scored in double figures in nine consecutive games dating to last season.

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) — Josh Nzeakor was perfect from the floor, knocking down seven field goals to total 19 points and helped Lamar to dominate NAIA's Huston-Tillotson 79-59 on Tuesday night.

Lamar celebrated the opening game of the season by scoring 17 unanswered points to start, rolling to a 44-22 halftime advantage. The Rams won the second half 37-35 but it was not enough to catch Lamar.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Elijah Brown scored 29 points, Obij Aget added 10 points and 10 rebounds and New Mexico held on for a 64-59 win over San Diego State in the season finale for both teams Saturday night.

Tim Williams also had 10 points for the Lobos, who secured a No. 5 seed and first-round bye in the upcoming Mountain West Tournament with the win.
