HUNTINGTON — The Marshall University School of Music will host a MUsic Mondays discussion at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at Cellar Door, 905 3rd Ave. in downtown Huntington.
Music professor and historian Vicki Stroeher will present a lecture titled “Handel’s Messiah,” examining the history of Handel’s beloved work, including the story of why and when it was written, how it came to be so popular and the typical practice by the audience of standing during the “Hallelujah” chorus.
