The patrol says the trooper pulled over a vehicle Thursday afternoon on Interstate 90 in Blue Earth County. Several occupants of the vehicle beat up the trooper and fled the scene.
After a brief pursuit was called off, the vehicle was found abandoned in Albert Lea and two suspects were arrested at a bar. The suspects have not yet been identified.

The patrol says a pickup truck was eastbound on Interstate 94 Tuesday afternoon when it was struck from behind by a semi. The pickup spun into a construction lane, striking workers Vernon Hedquist and Thomas Wood.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the 61-year-old man was a passenger in a car that struck on animal on the road. He and the driver got out to check the damage, and he was struck and killed by a passing car.

Authorities say a trooper stopped a vehicle for an obstructed license plate in Otter Tail County last Friday and found a woman inside sitting on packaged bags of marijuana. That stop led to the seizure of 300 pounds of marijuana.

Authorities say 17-year-old David Miller was struck on Highway 210 west of Staples in Todd County Thursday. WJON reports Miller was airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center, where he later died.
The driver of the semi was not hurt. The State Patrol says the horse also died in the crash.
