Hornets GM Kupchak signs multiyear contract extension

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Mitch Kupchak has signed a multiyear contract extension to remain the Charlotte Hornets' general manager.

Kupchak’s contract was set to expire this summer.

“For better or for worse, I will be here for the next couple of years,” Kupchak said Thursday on a videoconference call.

Hornets upgrade frontcourt by adding Montrezl Harrell

The Hornets, who've lost six straight games, acquired power forward/center Montrezl Harrell from the Washington Wizards.

Ball, Murray to replace Durant, Green in NBA All-Star Game

NEW YORK (AP) — Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball and San Antonio Spurs guard Dejounte Murray were named to the NBA All-Star Game on Monday as injury replacements for Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant and Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green.

Hornets get Bouknight at No. 11, Jones at No. 19 via Knicks

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Charlotte Hornets general manager Mitch Kupchak was a busy man Thursday night.

The Hornets selected guard James Bouknight from Connecticut with the No. 11 pick and landed a pair of centers via trade.
