Jimmie Lou Fisher, longtime Arkansas treasurer, dies at 80

PARAGOULD, Ark. (AP) — Jimmie Lou Fisher, who served as Arkansas' state treasurer for more than two decades and was the Democratic nominee for governor in 2002, has died, an Arkansas funeral home said.

1 dead after Arkansas crop-dusters collide midair

PARAGOULD, Ark. (AP) — One pilot was killed and another injured Wednesday when two crop-dusters collided in midair over northeast Arkansas.

A Grumman G164 and an Air Tractor crashed into each other around 11:35 a.m., about 16 miles southwest of Paragould, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford said.
