PARIS (AP) — Just a few months after thinking she might never play tennis again, Petra Martic is through to the fourth round of the French Open.
Martic was sidelined for 10 months with a back injury shortly after she lost at Wimbledon qualifying last year. It was initially thought she would return to the court much sooner.
PARIS (AP) — Madison Keys started to feel something wrong in her surgically repaired left wrist late in the first set of her second-round match at the French Open. It would be the last set she would win in the tournament.
"It kind of just got worse and worse. And then I was hoping I could, obviously, get through it in the second set," the 12th-seeded American said Thursday. "But then, by the third set, it was just really painful."

Bothered by her surgically repaired left wrist, 12th-seeded Madison Keys of the United States was upset in the French Open's second round 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 by 290th-ranked qualifier Petra Martic of Croatia.
Martic was the lowest-ranked woman in the second round at Roland Garros.
Keys made 51 unforced errors, 31 more than Martic.
The American's wrist was checked by a trainer after the second set.
