PINEDALE, Wyo. (AP) — A climber missing in the area of Wyoming's highest mountain has been found dead.
Thor Hallingbye, 41, of Cheyenne, was reported missing Sunday after apparently getting separated from his group near Gannett Peak on Saturday, according Sublette County sheriff's officials.
A national environmental group has set it sights on blocking a 220-square-mile gas field southwest of Pinedale by alleging violations of the Clean Air Act.
The project in the crosshairs is the Normally Pressured Lance gas field, a 3,500-well Jonah Energy development approved last month by the Bureau of Land Management after a seven-year environmental review.

The change of judges was filed Friday in Teton County District Court. It comes after the defendant, Donald Pack Jr., waived a potential conflict disclosed by Judge Timothy Day, who worked as a Teton County sheriff’s deputy when the original investigation took place and who said he knows one of the alleged victims, court files state.
All three people involved in a head-on collision April 6 in Sublette County west of Pinedale are recovering in regional hospitals, according to Wyoming Highway Patrol Lt. Klief Guenther.
“All members are still alive, but both drivers are still in critical condition,” Guenther said Wednesday.
