So there they were, 15 men ready to launch the 10 charter teams of the National Football League in 1920. They gathered in Ralph Hay's car showroom in Canton, Ohio , and got down to...

CANTON, Ohio (AP) — Imagine Dragons will perform at the Pro Football Hall of Fame to help kick off the NFL's 100th season.
The Hall announced Tuesday that the alternative-rock band will headline the Concert for Legends on Aug. 4.
Previous featured acts for the concert include Aerosmith, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith and Maroon 5.
ATLANTA (AP) — In the past decade, four defensive backs from the modern era have made the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
On Saturday, five of them are up for consideration.
Cornerback Champ Bailey and safety Ed Reed are in their first year of eligibility. Cornerback Ty Law and safeties John Lynch and Steve Atwater each have been this route before and fallen short.
MIAMI (AP) — Former Miami Dolphins guard Bob Kuechenberg, a six-time Pro Bowl selection and member of the only NFL team to achieve a perfect season, died at age 71.
His death Saturday was confirmed by the Dolphins, who had no further details.
David Baker is remaining president and CEO of the Pro Football Hall of Fame under a five-year extension and will take the role of chairman of Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village.
Baker will oversee the $889 million mixed-use development project underway around the Hall of Fame's campus in Canton, Ohio. He began running the hall in 2014.
The first high school all-star game to be played outside the United States will take place Dec. 22 in Mexico City, three days after many of the players involved will reveal which colleges they will attend.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Tommy McDonald, the small, speedy and sure-handed receiver who teamed with quarterback Norm Van Brocklin to help the Philadelphia Eagles win the 1960 NFL championship, has died. He was 84.
His death was announced Monday by the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Details were not disclosed.
CHICAGO (AP) — Brian Urlacher finally got a chance to say goodbye, and he tackled the opportunity the same way he played for 13 seasons.
Fast.
Urlacher was honored by the Chicago Bears at halftime of their 24-17 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night, after he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this summer. He got his Ring of Excellence from Bears owner Virginia McCaskey, and the team also presented Urlacher and his family with a statue of the All-Pro linebacker.
Tony Gonzalez, the most accomplished tight end in NFL history, Ed Reed, Champ Bailey and London Fletcher are first-year eligible players among the 102 modern-era nominees for the class of 2019 for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Pat Bowlen's nomination for the Pro Football Hall of Fame is a jolt of good news for a franchise that's had little to cheer in the 30 months since winning Super Bowl 50.
Peyton Manning retired. Gary Kubiak resigned. Paxton Lynch flopped.
The Broncos have lost 18 times over the last two seasons and went 5-11 in coach Vance Joseph's first year in 2017.
CANTON, Ohio (AP) — One of the great leaders football has seen, Ray Lewis used his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction speech to call for more enlightened leadership in the United States.
The last of the seven members of the class of 2018 on hand to be enshrined, Lewis eschewed notes and the lectern, instead strolling along the stage and passionately urging his listeners to come together.
The latest on Pro Football Hall of Fame inductions Saturday in Canton, Ohio, and Terrell Owens' separate celebration in Chattanooga, Tennessee (all times local):
10:30 p.m.
With a passionate 33-minute speech in which he strolled around the stage, ad libbed, praised and joked, spoke of sacrifice, love, glory and overcoming the odds, Ray Lewis entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Terrell Owens came in wearing a suit spotted with the Pro Football Hall of Fame logo and swapped that out for the prized gold jacket.
His bust? That remained 600 miles away in Canton, Ohio, along with the seven other members of this year's Hall of Fame class, leaving the stage at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga all alone to Owens.
And yes, the man known as T.O. later brought out a big bucket of popcorn.
Seven members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's class of 2018 will be on hand Saturday night in Canton, Ohio, for the induction festivities, along with more than 20,000 fans.
About 600 miles away in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the eighth new Hall of Famer, Terrell Owens, will be doing his own thing. Again.
CANTON, Ohio (AP) — Known as Weapon X when he was a dominant safety, Brian Dawkins recognizes it could have been Weapon P, as in Philadelphia.
Dawkins, who enters the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday night, spent 13 seasons as the leader of the Eagles defense, the emotional center of a team that made four straight NFC championship games and one Super Bowl. The connection with Philly will never fade for a guy who grew up in Florida and attended Clemson.
Leave it to Terrell Owens to choose to become the first person to celebrate being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame somewhere other than at the Canton, Ohio shrine.
Terrell Owens should have had a better excuse for blowing off his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
You know, like maybe he was going bowling.
That, at least, might have been understood in the tiny universe of T.O., the one the former wide receiver lives in and no one else seems to penetrate. Owens was so into bowling after his football career was over that he tried to go pro, only to be undone by slippery lane conditions.
CANTON, Ohio (AP) — Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher, two of the NFL's greatest linebackers, enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame this week. When their teams meet in Thursday night's preseason opener, the game could very well honor them by being a defensive battle.
On one hand, the Chicago Bears are installing a new offense under first-year coach Matt Nagy. On the other side, few if any of the Baltimore Ravens' starters at the offensive skill positions are likely to get much action.
SAN DIEGO (AP) — Bobby Beathard loathed first-round draft picks and reveled in taking chances on players from out-of-the-way colleges.
It was a formula that paid off with two victories in four trips to the Super Bowl as general manager of the Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers.
He also loathes dressing up, meaning the gold blazer he'll wear when he's inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame won't get much use after Saturday night's ceremony.
Despite his decision to not attend Saturday's Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremonies, Terrell Owens will be "honored" by the hall for his NFL career.
Hall President David Baker tells The Associated Press on Monday that the Canton, Ohio, shrine's mission statement begins with the goal "to honor the heroes of the game."
Terrell Owens has decided to celebrate his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame at Chattanooga, where he played college football.
The former NFL All-Pro receiver, who has said he was not attending the induction ceremony in Canton, Ohio, released a statement on Tuesday saying he would give his acceptance speech at his alma mater.
Terrell Owens always likes being the center of attention. His decision to skip the induction ceremony for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August will keep him far from the spotlight.
Owens was voted into the hall in February after being denied in his first two years of eligibility. His announcement Thursday is unprecedented by an enshrinee.
BEREA, Ohio (AP) — The Browns get the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft this week. Next month, they hope to get the entire draft.
In partnership with the cities of Cleveland, Canton and the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the Browns are a finalist to host the 2019 or 2020 drafts. The league is also considering Denver; Kansas City, Missouri; Las Vegas; and Nashville, Tennessee.
