Louisiana-Lafayette bowl eligible after win over Texas State

SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Chandler Fields threw two touchdown passes and Louisiana-Lafayette became bowl eligible with a 41-13 victory over Texas State in a regular-season finale on Saturday night.

Fields gave Louisiana-Lafayette (6-6, 4-4 Sun Belt) the lead for good in the first quarter when he threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Chris Smith for a 7-3 lead with 5:35 left in the first quarter.

Keller’s FG lifts Arkansas State over Texas State 16-13

SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Layne Hatcher drove Arkansas State 45 yards in 21 seconds and Seth Keller kicked a 29-yard field goal on the final play to rally Texas State to a 16-13 victory over Arkansas State on Saturday night.

Hatcher, Texas State beat Appalachian State 36-24

SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Layne Hatcher completed 26 of 36 passes for 281 yards and two first-half touchdowns, Tory Spears returned an interception 93 yards for a TD and Texas State never trailed Saturday night in the Bobcat's 36-24 win over Appalachian State.

Williams, Grainger TDs help Georgia State defeat Texas State

ATLANTA (AP) — Jamyest Williams ran for two touchdowns and Darren Grainger threw for two more as Georgia State defeated Texas State 28-16 on Saturday.

Williams, who rushed for 77 yards, scored on bursts up the middle for touchdowns of 18 and 28 yards.
