BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — Yellowstone National Park's booming bison population, which has strained resources and created problems for nearby ranchers, is expected to reach a level that park officials would like to maintain despite being much higher than the official population goal.

NEW YORK (AP) — Hugh Wilson, an award-winning director and writer with a knack for broad and witty comedy whose credits ranged from the raucous film "Police Academy" to the popular sitcom "WKRP in Cincinnati," has died at age 74.
Wilson died Jan. 14 at his home in Charlottesville, Virginia. His wife, Charters Smith Wilson, told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he had been battling lung cancer and emphysema.
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Authorities say a climber has died in a fall from Devils Tower.
The Casper Star-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/2sERcSY) 38-year-old Matthew Sorenson of Gillette died Friday.
The National Park Service, which manages Devils Tower National Monument, says it was the first climbing death there since 2003.
The 867-foot tower in northeastern Wyoming is popular with climbers.
DEVILS TOWER, Wyo. (AP) — Visitors to Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming spent more than $31 million in communities near the park last year.
The National Park Service report says the spending by the 498,000 visitors to the nation's first national monument supported 500 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of nearly $40 million.
