Hayes’ 3-run HR in 9th lifts Pirates to 4-2 win over Padres

SAN DIEGO (AP) — San Diego gave the Pittsburgh Pirates several chances to stick around, and Ke’Bryan Hayes finally made the Padres pay.

Hayes, battling a tight back all week, hit a three-run homer off major league saves leader Taylor Rogers with one out in the ninth inning and the Pirates beat the Padres 4-2 on Saturday night.

Pirates trade All-Star 2B Frazier to Padres

The Pittsburgh Pirates have traded All-Star second baseman Adam Frazier to the playoff-contending San Diego Padres for three minor leaguers.

Frazier was the National League starter in the All-Star Game this month.
