Olympic gold: Slovenia’s Ursa Bogataj soars past competition

ZHANGJIAKOU, China (AP) — Ursa Bogataj went from last to first.

The Slovenian ski jumper won Olympic gold in women's ski jumping on Saturday night, four years after after having the fewest points in the same event at the Pyeongchang Games.

US names 223 to Olympic team; 4 athletes are 5-timers

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — The 223-person U.S. Olympic roster revealed Monday includes four athletes making their fifth trip to the Games: Shaun White and Lindsey Jacobellis in snowboarding, Katie Uhlaender in skeleton and John Shuster in curling.

Japan’s Takanashi wins 2nd straight ski jump event

HINZENBACH, Austria (AP) — Japanese ski jumper Sara Takanashi won her second World Cup event in two days on Sunday, cementing her status as favorite for Olympic gold in Sochi.

Takanashi had jumps of 88.5 and 92.5 meters to gain 245.2 total points for her 10th individual victory of the season.
