Sagaliam Acquisition Corp. Announces Closing of Initial Public Offering and Exercise of Full Over-Allotment Option
LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / December 23, 2021 / Sagaliam Acquisition Corp. (the “Company”) announced today the closing of its initial public offering of 10,000,000 units at $10.00 per unit (the “Offering”). Each unit consists of one share of Class A common stock and one right to receive one-eighth (1/8) of one share of Class A common stock upon consummation of the initial business combination. The underwriters exercised their over-allotment option in full for an additional 1,500,000 units on December 21, 2021, which closed at the time of the closing of the Offering. As a result, the aggregate gross proceeds of the Offering, including the over-allotment, are $115 million, prior to deducting underwriting discounts, commissions, and other Offering expenses.
The units have been listed on the Nasdaq Global Market (“Nasdaq”) and began trading on December 21, 2021, under the ticker symbol “SAGAU”. Once the securities comprising the units begin separate trading, the shares of Class A common stock and rights are expected to be listed on Nasdaq under the symbols “SAGA” and “SAGAR” respectively.
The Company is a blank check company whose business purpose is to effect a merger, capital stock exchange, asset acquisition, stock purchase, reorganization or similar business combination with one or more businesses or entities. The Company has not selected a business combination target and has not, nor has anyone on its behalf, initiated any substantive discussions, directly or indirectly, with any business combination target.
