WEST MELBOURNE, FL / ACCESSWIRE / November 23, 2021 / BK Technologies Corporation (NYSE American:BKTI) today announced that the Wyoming State Forestry Division has selected BK’s new BKR 5000 portable communications technology for purchase and deployment as the agency implements its lifecycle replacement program and expands its communications products for use in their State Trust Land Management, Fire Management and Assistance Forestry programs.
BK Technologies has provided portable communications technology to the Wyoming State Forestry Division for many years, spanning generations of the Company’s product line. Headquartered in Cheyenne, the Forestry Division is responsible for the management of approximately 263,000 acres of forested trust land across the state, which includes timber management and harvest; managing state lands for long term forest health and productivity; fire management on 3.6 million surface acres of state trust land; and cooperative fire management on private and federal lands. Tim Vitou, President of BK Technologies commented, “We are pleased to have this opportunity to continue our longstanding partnership with the Wyoming State Forestry Division as they begin a lifecycle replacement program and expansion of their portable communications equipment. The agency has responsibility for the management and protection of a vast amount of geography, and the seamless transition from legacy to new communications technology is vital to the safety of its field personnel. Our BKR 5000 provides the highest level of durability and reliability, and has interoperability with legacy BK radios, a valuable benefit as the Forestry Division expands its radio stock with new equipment. We look forward to continuing to provide our mission critical communications technology in support of the agency’s activities managing and maintaining Wyoming’s forest resources and its mission to reduce fire risk and mitigate fire damage on both public and private land across the state.”
The BKR 5000 comes in three tiers allowing maximum flexibility and customization for the user’s mission-critical needs and has been designed to meet the requirements of today’s tough Public Safety communications environment. The BKR 5000 was designed and developed by the BK Technologies engineering team with extensive input from customers to incorporate the features and options needed by first responders.
A full line of accessories is available including intelligent battery and charging solutions, IP68 remote speaker microphones, and the popular BK wildland fire alkaline battery “clamshell”. The new BKR 5000 is expected to be a platform that enhances BK’s ability to address significant new vertical markets leading to expanded growth and market share.
