American Farmers & Ranchers Mutual Announces Selection of New Chief Executive Officer
OKLAHOMA CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar 31, 2020--
The Board of Directors of American Farmers & Ranchers Mutual Insurance Company (AFRMIC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jon D. Srna as the company’s next Chief Executive Officer. Srna will be assuming leadership on April 20, 2020. The successful engagement was conducted by the executive search practice of The Jacobson Group, and led by managing partner Margaret Resce Milkint.
“We are pleased to welcome Jon Srna to AFRMIC,” said board chairman Mason Mungle. “He is an impressive leader whose integrity, transparency and deep industry knowledge will contribute to the ongoing success and future growth of our policyholder family and independent agent community.”
“Additionally, the Board of Directors acknowledges and respects the leadership and significant contributions of Interim CEO Casey Davis,” Mungle continued.
Srna brings broad expertise in personal lines insurance and an extensive farm background to his role at AFRMIC. Srna began his insurance industry career more than 30 years ago with Farm Bureau Financial Services as a customer service supervisor. His accomplished career encompasses tenures as business unit vice president at Farm Bureau Financial Services; executive vice president and COO at ACCC Insurance; and, most recently, senior vice president of operations and COO at Madison Mutual Insurance Company. His well-rounded industry knowledge spans claims, underwriting, sales and marketing, operations, and finance; and he has a successful track record of continuous improvement initiatives and P&L leadership.
Srna is also extremely involved in his community. He formerly served as the board president of the Rock Creek U.S.D. 323 Board of Education, as well as a member of the board of trustees of the Kansas Insurance Education Foundation and the Civic Leadership Program at Kansas State University. Srna earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from Kansas State University and is a Lean Six Sigma Certified Champion. He was raised on a farm and enjoys livestock, spending time with his family, and serving his neighbors and community.
“Jon’s appointment as CEO begins an exciting new chapter in AFRMIC’s rich history and service-oriented mission,” said Milkint. “He is a servant leader, who excels at building win-win relationships and driving profitable growth and innovation. Jon’s industry credibility and proven leadership will propel AFRMIC’s success moving forward.”
