Georgia District Installs Devices on Buses to Reduce Harmful Viruses, Keep Drivers Safe

October 6, 2021 GMT

GREENVILLE, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct 6, 2021--

Bus drivers and students in Meriwether County schools are feeling much safer now that the school board has voted to install devices that reduce up to 99.96% of harmful viruses in the air and on surfaces, including SARS-CoV-2.

“We were at risk of losing bus drivers due to fear of COVID,” said Meriwether Superintendent Dr. Robert Griffin. “Now we can load, travel, and unload our buses knowing the air and surfaces are disinfected.”

The school board took the innovative step of purchasing 113 CASPR transit units from BioShark, an Atlanta-based company. CASPR converts natural air flow into very safe and very effective low levels of gaseous hydrogen peroxide. This natural disinfectant technology works continuously without harmful chemicals and will take the place of intermittent chemical spraying and cleaning of the bus fleet.

“Our goal is to provide peace of mind for students, parents, staff and bus drivers, to breathe the air and touch the surfaces without fear,” said Shannon Grube, of BioShark. “This will result in savings by reducing substitute bus drivers and teachers.”

The CASPR transit units will run continuously while the bus is in operation. The organic treatment is safe for people, pets, and plants. It doesn’t leave a residue and won’t cause corrosion on bus metals or seats which will save bus maintenance expenses.

BioShark also provides industrial units that fit in air conditioners to protect school facilities. Countless real-world studies consistently show a 95-100% reduction of all harmful micro-burdens. For more information, contact info@bioshark.com.
