Beginning in 2004, Dr. George Kouris spent the first 10 years of his career as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery where he was in private practice at the Rush University Medical Center. There, he taught and trained plastic surgery students the key methods and principles of plastic surgery while maintaining a thriving clinical practice. During that time, Dr. Kouris participated in and performed the most challenging and complex plastic surgery procedures known to the industry ranging from near-total facial reconstructions to full breast reconstructions. During those early years, his clinical practice began its evolution into an aesthetics-oriented plastic surgery center. Currently, Dr. Kouris performs a wide range of plastic surgery procedures from minimally invasive facial rejuvenation to body contouring procedures.

We sat down with Dr. George Kouris from Chicago to discuss his life and practice. We had the pleasure of learning about some of his personal interests which include cooking and travel.
Dr. George Kouris says, “Cooking isn’t something I have time to do a lot of, but once in a while I get to make dinner or breakfast for the whole family, which is great fun.” Dr. Kouris commented on the joys of sharing an active kitchen with children who are eager to learn, and eager to eat. He says his eldest is actually quite capable around the kitchen, which is always nice to hear.
Though George Kouris the doctor rarely is sufficiently free to leave the Chicago area, he writes frequently in his blog on DrKouris.com about some of the marvelous attractions that the local region has to offer. These include the vintage Drake Oak Brook Hotel that is as historically meaningful as it is beautifully built. He speaks of the pleasures of visiting the many marvelous shops and restaurants of The Magnificent Mile commercial district which includes the famous Tribune Tower and the terracotta Wrigley Building. He also speaks fondly about another hotel that stands as a local treasure, the Chicago Marriott Hotel and Medical District, which he no doubt visits frequently for professional reasons. Finally, Dr. George Kouris mentions the Millennium Park in Chicago which is an epicenter for concerts, public events, and major expositions of all kinds.
