‘The Comeback Trail’ finds a home in New Mexico
New Mexico is the backdrop for yet another movie.
The state Film Office announced “The Comeback Trail,” starring Hollywood veterans Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones and Morgan Freeman will begin shooting this summer in Albuquerque, To’Hajiilee, Yrisarri and Bonanza Creek Ranch near Santa Fe.
Filming is scheduled in early June through early July.
According to a news release from the state Film Office, the production will put to work about 75 New Mexico-based crew members, plus 15 local actors and about 300 “background talent.”
The movie is directed by George Gallo and produced by Richard Salvatore and David Ornston.
The Comeback Trail is about two movie producers who owe money to the mob and set up their aging movie star for an insurance scam in an attempt to save themselves.
