Mower County crash sends four to the hospital
AUSTIN — Minnesota State Patrol reports a crash near Austin Wednesday that sent four people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Cristina Argueyo Lopez, 22, of Austin, was westbound on Mower County Road 2 around 9 p.m. Wednesday when the Chrysler 200 she was driving collided in an intersection with a Jeep Wrangler that was southbound driven by Donald Roy Mackay, 40, also of Austin. Each driver was carrying one passenger with them, with all four being transported for non-life threatening injuries.
Lopez was transported to Austin Medical Center, as well as Mackay and his passenger, Keegan Alexander Mackay, 10.
Negrete Padilla-Gerardo, 21, was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Road conditions were dry when the crash occurred.
The Mower County Sheriff’s Office, Gold Cross, Austin Fire Department and the Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted on the scene.
