New Milford park open for holiday weekend with more security
Lynn Deming officially reopens Saturday after the security upgrades made earlier this year.
New Milford officials decided to make the security improvements after large crowds came out last Fourth of July. Among the improvements are new gates at the entrance and cameras.
A park ranger will be patrolling the park and there will also be extra police patrols at Lynn Deming, Addis and other parks, Mayor Pete Bass posted on Facebook Friday afternoon.
“We will be monitoring the woods area (at Lynn Deming),” he wrote. “If you are caught entering the park improperly, you will be escorted out of the park.”
Bass reminded residents that parking on Candlewood Lake N by the park is illegal and will be strictly enforced. Cars parked in the no parking area will be towed.
“As families and New Milford residents enjoy the park please keep the proper decorum and keep the music down so all can enjoy our beautiful park,” Bass wrote.
